Welcome to ~prohias-club! This is a DA club for fans of Antonio Prohias' comics and characters to gather to discuss and share fanwork and whatnot.

Short FAQ:

Q. Who's this Antonio Prohias guy?

A. He's most popular for starting Spy Vs Spy, the black and white wordless comic in MAD Magazine, which has currently been taken over by Peter Kuper (and Duck Edwing/Dave Manak in the Super Specials).

He was a very prestigious political cartoonist in his native Cuba up until Castro took power and Prohias started publishing cartoons saying that he was a Communist. So Prohias was exiled to America under pain of death, where he began publishing his Spy Vs Spy comic in MAD. He died in 1998.

Q. What comics has he published?

A. He's done a lot of political cartoons, but his reoccurring characters/strips are as follows (feel free to note me at ~madamluna to add to this list or correct me):

Q. What's allowed in this community?

A. Any fanwork of Prohias strips or characters. By extension, discussion of Bob Clarke/Duck Edwing/Dave Manak/Peter Kuper is also allowed, but only if it deals with their involvement in Spy Vs Spy.

Anything not allowed on Deviantart in the first place isn't allowed here. However, I do ask that anything of notable violence or sexual matter (sexual matter moreso because a lot of Prohias stuff is often violent) be marked with a Mature Content marker thing and, in the title, a little warning if necessary. Like, if there's slash you might want to go "title -slash-" or somesuch.

Q. How to join?

A. Note me at ~madamluna with "prohias-club" in the subject somewhere, saying that you wanna join, and I'll send you the password for the community so you can submit deviations to it.

That's about it. There's no "put it in your sig" or anything requirement, but you might wanna do it anyways to show support. And get new members, ahahaha.
